NO CLASS ON OCTOBER 17TH....Lauren will be in San Diego

What's Due on October 17th, 2012:

a.) Email Lauren your Blog URL and Twitter Handle

b.) Your blog should be live

c.) Your first blog post should be written and posted

d.) You should have tweeted twice

e.) You should be following Lauren on Twitter for test hints (@LaurenZiskie)

What's Due on October 24th, 2012: 

a.) You should have blog post 2 and 3 posted

b)  You should have tweeted four times

c.) Come to class with your current event

Week 8 Update!

Hi Everyone,


Grades
Grades are finished. You should have received both Current Events 1 & 2 grades via email or handed back to you. If you haven't, please see me. Undergrads, your presentations have been graded and will be handed back tomorrow.

What's due?
Tomorrow current event #3 is due tomorrow 5/22/12.  By tomorrow, you should have 6 blog posts completed. Grad students, your 8 page papers are due on week 9 5/29/12.

Coming Up
Your exam is quickly approaching on week 10. Some hints will be tweeted out soon. So keep a watch out on my Twitter. :-)  Your Personal Branding Projects (PBP) are also due on week 10. Please follow the directions on your rubrics for how to submit your projects for grading.

Hello from Los Angeles!!!

Hi Everyone,
Each of you should have received blog feedback from me via email. Please let me know if you have any questions. Current event grades will be handed out on Tuesday. Just a heads up, for next week class we will be changing rooms. There is a tax professor who needs to use our room to give an exam, so we will be having class in room 106. There should be a sign posted Tuesday as a reminder, but in case there is not remember to go to room 106.

Hello Everyone!
I hope each of you has enjoyed the weekend! Class WILL BE held this Tuesday, April 10th 2012. Erin Janda Rawlings will be teaching class for me while I'm away on business. She is a professional mommy blogger (also known as lifestyle blogger). Here's a link to her blog: http://mommyonthespot.blogspot.com/

During Tuesday's class, you will touch on the power of blogging, you will analyze different blogs and look for what is good/bad about certain layouts and features, discuss how to increase your blog traffic and subscribers, and how to write a compelling and engaging blog post. After the lecture, you will head down to the computer lab to learn how to set up your blog, add widgets into the blog, and how to set up a Twitter account.

If after class, you're still struggling setting up your blog or twitter account, please feel free to reach out to me on my cell phone. Leave a message if I don't answer and I will do my best to get back to you in the evening during my travels. I return home Sunday April 15th, 2012.

Lastly, once you have your blog URL and Twitter handle created, please email both of those over to me in ONE email with the subject line:  FIRST NAME_LAST NAME - Blog & Twitter.

Week 8 Update

Hey Class,
Just a heads up, I forgot to mention that I will be out of the country traveling from March 1-5. I will not have access to email, and probably very limited access to Twitter.
